Primary Function:    

The Staff Accountant maintains excellent working knowledge of the general ledger and overall corporate accounting functions.  These duties include various accounting issues such as payroll, financial statements and reports, audit preparation, etc.  Also, this position assists the Director and CFO as needed.



Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Equivalent Work Experience



Must have knowledge and experience with all aspects of corporate accounting. Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel and proficient in Word and Outlook. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting is required. Experience in the real estate industry is a plus.



1. Monthly preparation of financial statements for all companies

  • Preparation of journal entries for all companies
  • Investigation of variances on financial statements and creation of notes where appropriate
  • Reconciliation of various accounts monthly as journal entries are prepared
  • Preparation of supporting schedules for financial statements for various expenses: Education, contributions, sponsorships, travel, conventions, and capital budget
  • Preparation of schedules for CFO as needed to explain financial information

 2. Preparation of Work Papers for Annual Audit

  • Maintain a clear understanding of each balance sheet account
  • Preparation of requested schedules for auditors prior to Year End close
  • Answer questions and prepare schedules during audit process

 3. Assist in the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for all companies including the following:

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Prepaid Accounts
  • Investment Accounts
  • Sales Deposits
  • Clearing Accounts
  • Asset Accounts
  • Benefit related accrual accounts
  • Miscellaneous Balance Sheet Accounts

4. Annual Budgets for all companies

  • Prepare preliminary worksheets for managers
  • Update numerous versions of the budget
  • Prepare support schedules for various accounts

5. Miscellaneous duties, reports, and reconciliations

  • Various analysis, as needed
  • Intercompany reconciliations after financial statements are released
  • Update CSI depreciation solution software for asset additions or disposals
  • Assist in updating corporate retreat schedules
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consumer tax reports for all entities
  • Record Maintenance Accounts Receivable

 6. Prepare Monthly Business Reports
